2009 Uniform Plumbing Code Washington State Adoption

Washington State will adopt the 2009 Uniform Plumbing Code (UPC) and related Washington State Amendments on July 1, 2010.

• All CCEC plumbing continuing education courses offered after July 1, 2010 will be based on the 2009 UPC. Code update or code related courses based on the 2006 UPC and completed on or before June 30, 2010 will be accepted by Labor and Industries for continuing education credit. Any course based on the 2006 UPC and completed after June 30, 2010 will not be accepted.

• The Washington State journeyman and residential plumber licensing exams will be based on the UPC 2009 as early as January 2011. Washington State Plumbing certification and exam requirements.

• CCEC's Plumbing Journeyman Refresher Course will cover both the 2006 and 2009 UPC until the Washington State licensing exam coverts to the 2009 UPC.
